Our AGM back on the 9th October gave us a reshuffle of the Committee and some fresh new faces (along with *lots* of fresh ideas).

The meeting was very well attended and has given us on the Committee a new lease of life in our mission to support the school on two important fronts: 1) enabling the great community that has arisen of the schools parents, carers and friends and 2) raising funds for the important extras required to give our children the best St. Mary's experience we can!

As well as the 'official' Committee members we also had plenty of pledges of time that can be volunteered for future events.  Thank you so much to all who attended and especially to our new volunteers.

Our out-going Chairman also provided a long list of names of those to thank for all their help over the past year with PTFA activities.  The thank yous go to:
Gerrard & Catherine Newgent, Mel Ayres, Liz Snipe, Graham & Shelley Forsyth, Paula Gain, Tina Pearce, Chirsteen Carey, Katy Gore, Ellen & Nick Conway, Dani Cope, Sam Connor, Mark Brown, Ivana Collins, Helen Johnson, Mandy Flack, Agi, Caroline Conlon, Elspeth Morgan, Emma Carr, Kate Cotter, Katie Guinan, Kelly Holden White, Sharon Telford, Stephen And Catherine Mitchell.

Apologies if we missed off any helpers: we are so grateful for all assistance at our events and with our activities and always will be in the future. Please do not hesitate to contact the PTFA either directly to a member or via email to info@stmarysptfa.org.uk if you can help out during this year.

Lawrence is still working with the PTFA as Deputy Chair this year, with Nina Henderson-Andrade taking on the job of Chair.  Please see our Committee page for the full list of roles.

  Welcome...

A warm welcome awaits you at the Parent, Teacher & Friends Association of St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Bicester (PTFA).

Our group is made up of parents and teachers who attend the meetings and volunteer their time and resources as and when they can.

We are well supported by the School Staff group and we are particularly grateful for the keen longstanding support and encouragement of Miss Pickering (Head Teacher) and Miss Grant (Deputy Headteacher).

The PTFA are all about encouraging community and fundraising for the good of the school.  If you are a parent, teacher or friend of the school then we encourage you to join our Facebook community group!

  What do we do?

The PTFA exists to provide a closer, less formal link between home and school. It is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together; socially and in support of the school.

The membership of the committee changes from year to year but we seem always to have the same active and energetic spirit pervading the Association.

Two of the main aims of our efforts are; 1) to encourage a community of parents, teachers and friends for the common good of the school, and 2) fund raising activity. This additional revenue is always put to good use throughout the school.

In short, your school and your children benefit as a result and everyone involved has a lot of fun and satisfaction along the way.

We can't do it without YOU!

Parents and carers automatically become members of the PTFA when their child joins the school.

Help (is always) Required!! We need people to help on the PTFA committee, but more than one person per role can perform the roles.  Please see our AGM invite at the top of this page and attend for the best way to get involved now.  Or you can email the committee or info@stmarysptfa.org.uk

Volunteers Needed!

Teachers and members of the larger school community can become involved with the PTFA and any contribution of time (however small) is very much appreciated.

We also rely on our network of class reps that act as liaisons between parents & friends, class teachers, and the PTFA committee. The reps have a key role in assisting the PTFA in many activities, and by ensuring that all parents, friends and teachers are part of the community by spreading the word and being available to hear questions or concerns.

If you use Facebook, please consider joining our
official St. Mary's Bicester Community Group where we encourage exchanges of ideas, answering questions, and discussions on any subject directly or indirectly related to St. Mary's.
